GEPRC RAD VTX 5.8G 2.5W is an analog FPV video transmitter with selectable power levels.
Selection and use
It supports IRC Tramp control and PAL/NTSC video. Provide cooling and connect the antenna before applying power. Maximum output does not guarantee range; use channels and power permitted at the operating location.
Configuration and compatibility
Match the camera, video transmitter and goggles to the same supported video system. Analog, DJI O3/O4 and Vista are not interchangeable labels. Installation requires checking power, connectors, cooling space and antenna mounting. Confirm which modules, cables and antennas this offer includes.
Selection and installation details
The RAD VTX 2.5W sheet lists 7–36V input, an MMCX antenna connection and 30.5×30.5mm mounting. Use these details to check installation in an FPV frame. Plan camera power and transmitter control wiring separately for an analog system. Provide airflow during bench setup; higher output increases heat. The 2.5W figure is a hardware limit, not a recommendation for every environment or region.
Questions before buying
Is the picture in the goggles identical to the recorded file? Not necessarily. The pilot’s live feed and onboard recording have their own resolution and settings. Check live-view modes, recording capabilities and file storage separately for the chosen video configuration.
What affects video-link stability? Antenna placement and condition, power, cooling and the radio environment all matter. Check cable routing and propeller clearance during installation. Follow a ground test with a controlled check of the complete system installed on the aircraft.
