Detailed description

DJI RC-N1 RC231 is a dual-stick controller for compatible DJI drones, used together with a smartphone. The phone displays the camera view and DJI Fly information while the controller provides physical flight and camera controls.

Choosing your setup

It suits replacing a controller in an existing kit or keeping a workflow based on your own phone. Select the connection cable for the phone’s port; USB charging and the phone data connection serve different purposes. Check the phone’s fit with its case attached as well.

Compatibility and preparation

Supported aircraft include Mini 2, Mini 2 SE, Mini 4K, Air 2S and the Mavic 3 series. Check exact compatibility and required firmware for your aircraft. RC-N1 should not be confused with RC-N1C, RC-N2 or RC-N3.

Practical use

Before first use, charge the controller, check its software and link it to the correct aircraft. Confirm stick and button response, the live image and app status messages before take-off. Recheck the connection procedure when changing aircraft: a similar case or product name does not establish electronic compatibility.

This is a previously used unit. Request current photographs and details of the screen, antennas, ports, controls and built-in battery. Check which sticks, cables and other accessories accompany this particular unit. Cosmetic wear, operating time and warranty are assessed individually; the Used label does not establish its technical condition. For a replacement controller, also confirm that it can be properly linked to the aircraft and the user account.

When replacing a unit, have a photograph of the previous controller’s label and the full aircraft model ready. Check frequently used filming controls as well as power-up and menu display; those alone do not establish a suitable working setup.
