Detailed description

DJI Mini 3 combines a 1/1.3-inch sensor, 4K HDR video and true vertical shooting in a folding camera drone.

DJI Mini 3 (Fly More Combo)

The camera rotates to record portrait footage for Reels, Shorts and phone-first projects. Switch back to landscape framing for scenery while retaining three-axis stabilisation. Its f/1.7 lens and larger sensor than Mini 2 are useful when working with more demanding light.

Features and use

  • Up to 4K/30fps video
  • 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor
  • JPEG and DNG RAW photographs
  • True vertical shooting by rotating the camera
  • Up to 38 minutes with the standard battery in DJI tests

Choosing the configuration

Mini 3 suits travel photography and social content. It does not offer the obstacle-avoidance system of the Pro models. The Plus battery has different weight and endurance; a Fly More name alone does not mean this battery type is supplied.

Fly More Combo suits trips involving repeated takes and organised charging between flights. Compare battery type and quantity, hub and bag against the actual offer contents.

Maximum endurance is measured under controlled conditions. Wind, temperature, settings, payload and battery condition affect results; keep a reserve for returning and landing.

The offer specifies three batteries. They enable repeat sessions after landing and swapping without changing camera performance. Keep charged and used packs separate so the next mission starts with the intended energy reserve.

Getting more from this model

For a property presentation or a travel destination, Mini 3 can capture a horizontal overview and a separate vertical clip. Physical camera rotation preserves a portrait composition without heavily cropping a landscape frame. Its bright lens is useful around sunset, although moving subjects still require an appropriate shutter speed. Keep lighting and white balance consistent between orientations so both versions feel like one project. For a gentle reveal, hold a static frame before moving and leave a few seconds after the movement ends; these handles make editing much easier.

Frequently asked questions

Does Mini 3 record 4K/60fps?

No, 4K reaches 30fps. Compare the Pro models if 4K/60 or ActiveTrack subject following is a priority.

Will it automatically avoid trees?

It has no front and rear obstacle-sensing system. Downward sensors assist positioning but do not provide autonomous navigation through branches.

What changes with DJI RC?

DJI RC includes its own screen. For a phone-based controller, check your phone, cable and app before travelling. Controller choice does not change the aircraft camera.
