Detailed description
DJI Osmo Action 4 is an action camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and recording up to 4K/120fps.
DJI Osmo Action 4 (Adventure Combo)
Action 4 suits sports, walking shots and equipment-mounted filming where a compact camera matters. Its wide view includes the surroundings, while electronic stabilisation helps smooth movement. The 10-bit D-Log M profile provides a flexible starting point for grading and matching footage from other cameras.
Features and use
- 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor
- 4K/120fps in 16:9
- 4K/60fps in 4:3
- Up to 155° field of view
- RockSteady electronic stabilisation and horizon modes
Choosing the configuration
Choose aspect ratio before shooting: 4:3 leaves reframing space, while 16:9 enables 4K/120fps. Stabilisation modes have their own resolution and frame-rate limits. Adventure Combo targets longer sessions; check the specific batteries and accessories supplied.
Adventure Combo is the option for additional shooting accessories and battery rotation. Check the contents, charging arrangement and mounts before choosing. The Adventure label does not change camera recording resolution.
Before an important session, test recording format, stabilisation, available storage and sound with a short sample. Copy footage before deleting files or formatting storage.
The official Adventure Combo includes three Extreme batteries, a multifunctional battery case and a 1.5m extension rod. These help alternate handheld angles and longer sessions with battery swaps between scenes.
Getting more from this model
For cycling, hiking or a travel diary, mount position changes the story more than maximum resolution alone. A chest view includes your hands and direction of movement, while a handle lets you show both the location and yourself. Test the angle before the activity and keep the lens clean. D-Log M helps with a graded project; a regular profile reduces editing steps for quick sharing. Assess wind noise and mount vibration separately from image stabilization. Record and listen to a test clip before a long take to catch rattling or rubbing accessories.
Frequently asked questions
Does 4K/120 work in 4:3?
On Action 4, 4K/120fps uses 16:9. 4K in 4:3 reaches 60fps.
Is the mount magnet alone enough?
No. The quick-release connection also needs correct mechanical locking. Check it before activity.
Can the camera go underwater without a housing?
DJI specifies up to 18m under its conditions with covers properly closed. Follow the instructions and choose an appropriate housing for diving or high water pressure; a mount does not increase water protection.
