DJI O3 Air Unit is a digital video system for integration into a compatible FPV drone.
Selection and use
The system transmits video to compatible DJI goggles. When upgrading from analog to O3, check the complete video chain and power supply; an analog camera is not a direct replacement.
Configuration and compatibility
Match the camera, video transmitter and goggles to the same supported video system. Analog, DJI O3/O4 and Vista are not interchangeable labels. Installation requires checking power, connectors, cooling space and antenna mounting. Onboard recording resolution may differ from the live pilot view. O3 Air Unit combines digital transmission with a 1/1.7-inch camera and recording up to 4K/120fps, according to DJI. For dynamic footage, separate final-file settings from the pilot’s live view. When upgrading from analog, plan camera placement, power and antenna mounting as a complete system. Check storage and USB access after closing the frame; a cramped installation can complicate file transfer and cooling during bench setup.
Questions before buying
Is the picture in the goggles identical to the recorded file? Not necessarily. The pilot’s live feed and onboard recording have their own resolution and settings. Check live-view modes, recording capabilities and file storage separately for the chosen video configuration.
What affects video-link stability? Antenna placement and condition, power, cooling and the radio environment all matter. Check cable routing and propeller clearance during installation. Follow a ground test with a controlled check of the complete system installed on the aircraft.
