Detailed description

DJI Matrice 30 / 30T is an industrial drone series for inspections, combining integrated cameras and a laser rangefinder.

DJI Matrice 30 / 30T

The platform brings wide views, zoom imaging and distance measurement together for infrastructure and field operations. An integrated payload simplifies preparation compared with a platform using separate camera systems. The M30T version adds thermal imaging for evaluating temperature differences.

Features and use

  • Integrated wide and zoom cameras
  • Laser rangefinder
  • 640 × 512 thermal camera on M30T only
  • TB30 battery system
  • Up to 41 minutes in DJI tests

Choosing the configuration

The shared M30 / M30T name covers two different configurations. Confirm M30T explicitly when thermal imaging is needed; M30 without T does not include the thermal camera. Check controller, batteries, charging station and any service-plan terms in the offer.

This configuration suits buyers who prefer selecting additional accessories individually. Check box contents, controls and power before comparing the price with a larger bundle; the same model can be offered in different packages.

Maximum endurance is measured under controlled conditions. Wind, temperature, settings, payload and battery condition affect results; keep a reserve for returning and landing.

Getting more from this model

For the M30T version with thermal imaging: For a thermal inspection, locate the asset in the visible image first, then examine temperature distribution in infrared. A thermal anomaly is evidence to investigate, not an automatic diagnosis. Sunlight, wind, moisture, surface material and viewing angle influence the result. Keep distance and conditions comparable across reports and archive original files rather than screenshots alone. This workflow is useful for buildings, installations and difficult-to-access equipment. Define the smallest defect of interest before travelling so that you can choose a realistic working distance and check whether the detail is sufficient.

Frequently asked questions

Can the thermal camera see through walls?

No. It records infrared radiation from visible surfaces; a coloured temperature map does not directly show the inside of a wall.

Does digital zoom add measured detail?

It does not create additional thermal-sensor pixels. Distance and angle are crucial for a small feature within appropriate operating conditions.

What should a report retain?

The associated visible image, location, time, conditions and relevant measurement settings. Interpret findings alongside the asset's construction and ground-level checks.
