Detailed description
DJI Air 3 has two 48MP cameras: a wide-angle camera and a 3× medium tele camera for different aerial perspectives.
DJI Air 3 (Fly More Combo DJI RC2)
The wide camera establishes the location, while the medium tele camera compresses perspective and separates the subject. Both use 1/1.3-inch sensors, making it easier to alternate views within one project. This is useful for travel films, property showcases and productions that need varied shot sizes.
Features and use
- Two 1/1.3-inch CMOS cameras
- Up to 48MP photos from both cameras
- 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/100fps Slow Motion
- Omnidirectional obstacle sensing
- Up to 46 minutes in DJI tests
Choosing the configuration
Choose Air 3 when two focal lengths matter more than having the smallest aircraft. RC-N2 uses a phone for its screen, while RC 2 includes its own display. Spare batteries help repeat shots from several positions.
Fly More Combo suits trips involving repeated takes and organised charging between flights. Compare battery type and quantity, hub and bag against the actual offer contents. RC 2 has a built-in display, so a phone is not needed as its monitor.
Maximum endurance is measured under controlled conditions. Wind, temperature, settings, payload and battery condition affect results; keep a reserve for returning and landing.
The offer specifies three batteries. They enable repeat sessions after landing and swapping without changing camera performance. Keep charged and used packs separate so the next mission starts with the intended energy reserve.
Getting more from this model
Air 3 offers two useful focal lengths for property films and travel: the 24mm camera establishes the location, while the 70mm camera isolates a facade, person or landscape detail. Changing perspective requires an appropriate shooting distance, not just pressing zoom. Record a few seconds before and after the main movement to make editing transitions easier. Both cameras offer 10-bit D-Log M and HLG. Check exposure when switching between them because their different apertures can require adjustment, particularly as evening light fades.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 3× camera a continuous optical zoom?
No. It is a separate camera with a 70mm equivalent focal length. Further magnification uses digital cropping.
How does vertical recording work?
Vertical video reaches 2.7K using a crop. The gimbal does not rotate the camera into portrait orientation like Mini 3 or Mini 4 Pro.
Can it record 4K/200fps?
No. 4K slow motion reaches 100fps; 200fps refers to Full HD.
